Our environmental sustainability statement
Embracing a sustainable ethos as a small, independent, family-run business, we proudly acknowledge our environmental responsibility in fostering sustainability in Wales. Aligned with the Welsh Government’s ‘Welcome to Wales’ strategy, we go beyond to surpass environmental sustainability goals, achieving full self-sufficiency in November 2023. Through our biomass boiler, on-site water well, and newly installed solar panels, we seamlessly meet all our energy and water needs.
Key Initiatives:
Solar Panels
Our solar panels not only play a pivotal role in harnessing renewable energy for the farm but also power our large laundry machines, ensuring a guilt-free night of sleep in our luxurious linen.
Bio Mass Boiler
Utilizing organic matter (wood pellets), our biomass boiler heating system provides sustainable warmth to all cottages, including hot tubs, offering a greener alternative to traditional fossil fuel boilers.
Water Well
Discovered in 2015, our own water well taps into a natural water source underneath the farm, providing a reliable drinking water supply to all properties.
Recycling
We actively engage in recycling practices, sorting glass, paper, cans, plastic, and cardboard to avoid contamination. Bulk purchases, refills, and minimal paper usage through electronic communication contribute to reducing unnecessary waste. Committed to sustainability, our toiletries suppliers provide products in recyclable containers, and we aim to install refillable toiletry dispensers in all cottages by the end of 2024.
Reducing Energy Waste
Encouraging environmental mindfulness, we request guests to conserve energy by turning off lights and appliances when not in use. Energy-saving fittings and devices are employed to minimize unnecessary waste across all cottages.

Our welcome packs are thoughtfully curated with locally-produced products, emphasizing our commitment to supporting the local economy.
Supporting the Local Economy
By employing local staff, housekeepers, and trades, and advocating for local purchases, we actively contribute to and encourage our guests to support the vibrant local community and economy.
